Our Industrial Chemical division at Lankem markets a variety of imported chemicals catering to the needs of the local rubber, plastic, textile, leather, ceramic, printing and paint industries. Rubber chemicals, thinners, cutbacks, road emulsions and epoxies account for a major proportion of Lankem's trade in industrial chemicals and bituminous products.

Lankem is the largest private sector organization supplying the entire range of bituminous products. We are also an authorized distributor of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation for Bitumen 80/100 and Bitumen 60/70.

The Lankem factory is situated in Sapugaskanda, on 6 acres of land that includes a drum yard facility which has a capacity of holding approximately 15,000 drums. Our distribution system includes a fleet of 8 bowsers for the transportation of bulk Asphalt & Emulsions. In addition to this, we also undertake the transportation of material in drums using company-owned and hired vehicles.

Our focal customer base lies mainly within the B2B market and institutonal sectors and we endorse long-term relationships with our principals. Our entire range of emulsions are manufactured to meet ASTM specifications and are tested at the R & D Laboratory of Road Development Authority in Sri Lanka.
